M(a)y Zine – M(a)y Sisters
Das M(a)y Zine entstand im Rahmen des Projektes „M(a)y Sister #5″; einem Theaterprojekt für Schwarze Frauen*.
Das Projekt wurde von Natasha A. Kelly ins Leben gerufen und bietet einen Raum, sich über Theater mit dem Leben und den Werken May Ayims zu beschäftigen. Aufgrund der Pandemie
konnten die Proben nicht wie geplant verlaufen; so entstand neben einem Kurzfilm das M(a)y Zine: eine Sammlung von Bildern, Texten und Fotos, die den Probenprozess, Gedankenspiele und gemeinsame Ideen kreativ begleitet.

Die M(a)y Sisters #5-Gruppe besteht aus 13 Schwarzen Menschen, die sich mit dem Begriff Frau* identifizieren können. Im Rahmen des aktuellen Projekts mit dem Thema „unter einem alten walnussmangobaum“ entstanden außer dem Zine ein Kurzfilm, ein Hörspiel und ein Bühnenstück, das hoffentlich bald aufgeführt werden kann. Themen sind Begegnungen unter Schwarzen Menschen, Träume, Verbindung mit einem gemeinsamen Erbe und das Zulassen unterschiedlicher Perspektiven in unseren Räumen.
Wortland – Andrea Karimé
In meinen Zines beschäftige ich mich mit der Ressource der Mehrsprachigkeit als Meersprachigkeit. Jedes Zine beleuchtet 1 Wort aus Einwanderersprache oder indigener Sprache oder aus erfundenen Sprachen.

Ich schreibe Gedichte, Kinderbücher, Essays und Zines aus deutschlibanesischer Perspektive. Letzte Veröffentlichung: Antennenkind. Letzte Auszeichnung „Buch des Monats“ der Deutschen Akademie für Kinder und Jugendliteratur. Auf Insta gibts ein Dilltaschenprojekt @andreakarimee. Gedichte mit je einem Wort aus den Sprachen Afrikas.

Ich mache seit über 30 Jahren Fanzines. Am Anfang zeichnete ich Unikate (gemalt und gezeichnet) und tendierte dann zum Antwortenden und Experimentieren, um schließlich soziale und autobiografische Themen anzusprechen.

Manuel Rodríguez
Er arbeitet über soziale Themen wie prekäre Arbeit, Armut und Migration. Er nutzt Farbe, Druck und Reproduktion, um seine Ideen und seine Künste mit anderen Menschen zu teilen. Er wurde in Chile geboren und verbrachte seine Kindheit und Jugend in der chilenischen Diktatur. Nach dem Studium der bildenden Kunst entschloss er sich, nach Europa auszuwandern. Nach einigen Jahren in Spanien kommt er nach Deutschland, wo er derzeit lebt. Die Erfahrung des Lebens in der Diktatur in Chile und die anschließende Erfahrung prekärer Arbeit und Migration werden das Thema seiner künstlerischen Arbeit grundlegend bestimmen. Er ist auch Mitglied der Kiltraza Kunstgruppe (Chile).

Darin gibt es Texte, Gedichte, Comics, Illustrationen und lustige Gimmicks. Wir gestalten das Zine im Safer Space für Menschen die von Rassismus und/oder Antisemitismus betroffen sind, aber die Inhalte müssen sich nicht unbedingt damit beschäftigen.

tuerspion ist ein Magazin Projekt von Menschen aus Hannover. Wir sammeln kreative Beiträge in Form von Illustrationen, Texte, Comics, Poesie zu wechselnden Themen und veröffentlichen sie in einem Printmagazin, ausserdem organisieren wir ab und zu kreative Workshops. Bei uns kann jede Person Beiträge einreichen und mitmachen, die sich als (post-)migrantisch, Person of Color, Schwarz oder jüdisch identifiziert und einen Bezug zu Hannover hat. tuerspion ist ein Safer Space und Empowerment Raum.

My zines are a series about processing components of identity. From vaginas to mental health to diasporas, each zine focuses on one of the “boxes” of my identity. In the “Vagina” zine, I dive into the difficulties, politics, and sexualization of being a person with a pussy. Furious feminism and hilarious Humanism are splayed across the pages as the reader is asked to engage with the material and reflect on their own assumptions and biases while being welcomed into a component of my multi-faceted identity.

Allia (A.E.) Sadeghipour is an Queer Iranian-American Surrealist, humanist, writer, teacher, punk and poet. She is the President of the Women* Writing Berlin Lab (WWBL) and has taught workshops for GLADT and Feminist film organizations. She won the Sherry Debrowski Prize for Best Feminist Multi-Genre Fiction writer in 2009 and has not stopped since. Most recently, her work has been featured in: The Bear: Favorite Storyteller (2018 & 2020), KCRW and the Goethe Institute (2018 & 2020), What’s Afghan Punk Rock Anyway?! (2019), The Ghosts of Berlin: Der Geister von Berlin (2019), Literarische Diverse (2019), Teach the Rainbow: Insights from LGBTeachers about Queer Visibility (2020), and much more. She has had the honor of performing for GLADT, Wicked, Nightschool Berlin, Viva Con Aqua, the IDP Collective, and the Iranian Re(connect) Festival. Rebecca Nea Alemee Meyer is a writer and performer of poetic essays and lyrical documentaries of their reality of living in a queer, non-white body. Since 2018 they curate multimedial events and exhibitions on the intersection of relationships between the body, space and technology. Their work has been featured in magazines and as part of festivals.

Besides studying, we dedicate our free time to create some form of art, specifically Fanzines. Our fanzines talk about the day to day experiences that us (the youth) have to deal with, whether these things are good ones or bad ones.
Everything started with the idea of creating something fun and without limits, we wanted something that allowed us to experiment beyond what our university was teaching and offering us. After a lot of talking and brainstorming we came to the conclusion that for us, designers, the best and simplest way to express ourselves was through this, and after creating a few of them, we thought that it would be fun to share it with the world.

We are Gabriel and Alejandro, we were born in Caracas, Venezuela and Alicante, Spain respectively.
Gabriel is a graphic design student who´s just about to start his third year of college, while Alejando also studies design, but in his case he´s following the branch of fashion apparel being now in his fourth and last year of education.
This project was born during the pandemic. We spent together the spanish quarantine that was put in order because of the Covid-19, and this was our way of experimenting and trying to put our creativity in motion to find our paths as designers

Unser Zine trägt den Titel: Über anti-asiatischen Rassismus
Mit diesem Zine möchten wir asiatisch gelesene/sich asiatisch identifizierende Menschen empowern, sodass falls sie ihre Erfahrungen teilen und die Person(en) gegenüber fragen »Was ist anti-asiatischer Rassismus« sie diese Frage nicht beantworten müssen, sondern auf dem Zine verweisen können.
Das Zine besteht aus einem Teil, der die Entstehung von anti-asiatischen Rassismus in Deutschland thematisiert, dann werden verschiedene Faktoren und Erscheinungsformen beschrieben. Der Inhalt wird mit Beispielen und einem Gedicht abgerundet, welches das ganze nochmal greifbarer machen sollen.
Zudem kaufen auch viele weiße Menschen das Zine, um sich mit der Thematik auseinanderzusetzen.

Limo (sie/ihr) ist 22 Jahre alt und kommt aus Hamburg. Als Spoken Word Künstlerin versucht sie Sprache als Empowerment-Werkzeug zu nutzen, um den Spagat zwischen Aktivismus und Erholung zu meistern. Neben dem Schreiben ist sie beim Kunstkollektiv »Tiger.Riots« und beim Bi_PoC Kollektiv »Power of Poetry« aktiv und möchte safer(e) Räume schaffen, in denen sich verschiedenste Kunst bewegen und ergänzen kann. Zudem ist sie Workshopgeberin für Kreatives, Heilsames und Bildungspolitisches Schreiben. Momentan macht sie eine Weiterbildung als Diversitätstrainerin und möchte in Zukunft als Schreibtherapeutin/Schreibcoach arbeiten.

Inside The Ring – Ceren Saner

»Inside The Ring« was self-published in collaboration with Paper Street Co. in Jan 2020 as my first photo book. The limited edition, 300-edition book is numbered by the artist and contains sections hand-sewn by her. Ceren Saner leaves the needle she sewed in each copy of the book.

Inside The Ring is an ongoing photo and video series that started in 2016 when the artist immigrated to Germany. It began as a personal exploration of Ceren Saner’s journey as a queer migrant femme of color arriving in Berlin. This body of work initially could be seen as the artist’s visual diary, consisting of a pool of visuals taken in public and private spaces of Berlin, but could also be seen as an exploration of the concept of belonging, of finding one’s place and an emotional mapping throughout the city. With this work, the artist explores affiliations in Berlin neighborhoods – and her inherent need to create a critical dialogue through visual storytelling and a sense of collective being.

Ceren Saner b. 1991, Istanbul. Currently based in Berlin.
Ceren Saner is a self taught lens based artist who mostly produces with photography, but also video, and film alongside being interested in artist-books as a medium. Ceren navigates life through the lens and her works have predominantly autobiographical elements in them.
She migrated to Berlin after getting invited by 7LettersCollective as an artist, and started #isntitlovethetour around Germany and Europe that continued for 3 years. Soon after, her first solo exhibition in Germany opened at the end of 2019. Finally in January 2020, Saner published her first photo-book “Inside The Ring” independently, created out of her on-going body of work from Berlin.
After all, Ceren Saner’s artworks have been shown in France, Germany, Italy, Lebanon, United Kingdom, United States of America, and her native Turkey.
Asad Ali Zulfiqar – Asad Ali Zulfiqar
This self-titled zine is a holy book of roots and routes that reminds me of everything I am through a personal anthroponymy of my chosen name. It situates my name in a time, kal, that means yesterday and tomorrow at once, and turns a name from an individual into a compass for queer Muslim liberation.

Asad Ali Zulfiqar’s work explores archival practice and possibilities of locating joy in the mundane. They live and work in Karachi, and hold a BA in Communication Studies and Design from Habib University.
Some Form Of Therapy

Our zine named „some form of therapy“ is a space for verbalizing the processes of going to therapy and integrating it into daily life, of therapeutic moments outside of the therapy room, of healing, emotional and embodied pain, care and mental health. In a lyric exchange and within the trusting framework of our close friendship we explore questions, revelations, past experiences and the now. What does it mean to actively confront our feelings? How do we negotiate the tensions between intimacy and strangeness in therapeutic spaces? What does healing and care look like in an extractive, capitalist society? How are we there for each other and how do we nurture strength out of solidarity and vulnerability? With the shame that is often still attached to mental health and the difficulties of talking openly about these topics outside of the safer spaces of friendships, we see the importance of voicing this, as we believe that sharing stories can create compassion for oneself and others.

Marieke Helmke writes poems, lyrics, music and letters to her friends and family. She cares for topics of care (work) and feels home in the forest.

Ich schreibe vor allem über Behinderung, Migration, Sucht/Nüchternheit, Trans-Thematiken und mehr. Meine Zines bestehen meistens aus Collagen mit leicht lesbaren Texten, zum großen Teil auf deutsch.

Ich mag es sehr mich mit vielen kreativen Projekten zu umgeben, daher sind wohl Zines eins meiner Lieblingsmedien: kurze Texte, Gedichte, Assoziationen, Collagen, Zeichnungen mit einem aktivistischen Ansatz.
Meine Arbeiten werden beeinflusst von meiner gelebten Realität als behinderte, fette, migrierte, agender, weiße, autistische Femme. Mit dem Schwerpunkt der Intersektionen von Sucht, Behinderung, Queerness und meinen karelischen Wurzeln plane ich in Zukunft weiter zu arbeiten.

Paula Steiner, 1999 in Schweinfurt geboren Studierte Drehbuch/Dramaturgie an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg. Danach war sie Stipendiatin des LCB Berlin und las ihre Texte schon auf mehreren Bühnen, zuletzt für die PULS Storytime. In ihrer Freizeit schreibt sie Gedichte über Angst und fährt mit ihrem Klapprad Benedikt von einem Berliner Buchladen zum nächsten.

Hello I’m Silvana Smith. I only recently started making zines. I love creating bold contrast drawings with ink. I like to make zines that are whimsical and friendly. They’re meant to be slightly educational and great for children. They usually focus on things I enjoy interacting with, such as cats, teeth, insects and eggs.

Silvana Smith is a writer, zine-maker and multi-media artist born in Catania, Sicily, and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her BFA in sculpture from the University of North Florida. She has a love for illustration and linework. Her work incorporates photography, food manipulation, typography, sewing, painting, and cast resin. Spoken and written words are major sources of inspiration for her. Other concepts include interpretations of resonance and comfort.
Mantis Magazine – Eve D'Obier
Mantis Magazine ist ein intersektional feministisches Magazin. Es erscheint seit 2018 vierteljährlich. Der Anspruch von Mantis Magazine ist es alle Stimmen, unabhängig von verschiedensten intersektional öffentlich zu machen und eine Plattform zu bieten. Das reguläre Verlagswesen ist sehr diskriminierend, doch ist es wichtig allen Stimmen im Feminismus Gehör zu verschaffen. Mantis Magazine ist ein offener Raum an dem jede*r teilhaben kann, um sich über Thematiken rund um den intersektionalen Feminismus auszutauschen und zu bilden.
